ROSS Engineering were awarded the construction of a permanent raised metal structural cleanroom modular floor, covering and area of mover than 2,273m2. Each floor module weighed approximately 2.2t, with and overall project weight of 484t, consisting of a powder coated structural steel frame finished with a 10mm mild steel top plate overlayed with 7mm aluminium.
The cleanroom floor is designed to meet stringent cleanliness requirements for specialized operations, such as manufacturing, research, or scientific processes. The project encompasses the following key activities:
Design and Engineering: Consider factors such as load-bearing capacity, static control, vibration resistance, and compliance with cleanroom standards and regulations.
Material Selection and Procurement: Identify and source appropriate materials compatible with cleanroom standards.
Preparation: Take measures to minimize dust, contaminants, and external influences that could compromise the cleanliness of the cleanroom floor during construction and installation.
Cleanroom Flooring Installation: Install the selected cleanroom flooring system according to the manufacturer’s specifications and cleanroom standards, to tolerances of +-3mm.
Static Control Measures: Implement static control measures within the cleanroom floor system, if required. This includes the installation of conductive or dissipative flooring materials, grounding systems, and other measures to mitigate electrostatic discharge (ESD) risks.
Documentation and Compliance: Maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the project, including design plans, material specifications, installation records, and any necessary compliance certifications or reports.
By executing the project according to the defined scope of work, the construction team delivered a permanent structural cleanroom floor that meets the highest cleanliness and performance standards, ensuring a controlled and sterile environment for the specific operations conducted within the cleanroom facility on time and on budget.
